Gunner is a sweet 4 yr old basset that came to Obhr as an owner relinquish. He has been vetted and is ready for adoption! He is looking for a forever home, please consider taking this loving boy in!
Updates from Gunners Foster Mom:
Update #4: More updates: Gunner is still looking for his forever home. Since being in my home he has really blossomed! He is such a different dog than when he first came to my home. He was kind of shy and distrusting, but he is so smart and just wants to please. He plays nicely with my 3 other dogs. Chasing Bart is is favorite thing. And, holy smokes, is he fast!! His hair is almost grown in completely after getting rid of the skin infection. He needs a home that will be patient with him. He has had several changes in his life in a short time. He just wants to be loved and cared for. He is a young dog that will do best with at least 1 other dog. He is fine with my cat, too.
Update #3: Gunner's bacterial infection is long gone and has a lot of hair regrowth. His skin issues may be chronic, but with a little attention every day, it has been manageable. He is the perfect amount of playfulness and willingness to be quiet. He sleeps all night, in a dog bed most nights, but would love to sleep in bed with me. He stays in a crate when I'm gone and does very well. Gunner is very smart, so that does come with some challenges. If this sounds like a dog that would fit into your heart and home, please fill out an application.
February - Gunner is still doing great! He is a very laid back, go-with-the-flow type of dog. He enjoys running and playing with the other dogs. Doing well in the crate and is house trained.
Foster "Gunner" has been here for a week and he fits right into my pack as if he's been here for years. That, however, has not come without challenges. "Gunner" has a bacterial and fungal infection on his skin, and in his ears. Since I have been consistently giving it attention, he is already looking better. I'm not sure what brought this on, but the adopter must know that this could be chronic. He gets along great with my pack and he doesn't mind my cat. If you are interested please fill out an application.
All OBHR dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on shots, checked for heart worm and on heart guard and flea preventative. If interested in one of our dogs please fill out an application at www.ohiobassetrescue.com today.
