Fred is an adorable 10 yr old red & white male rescued as a stray from the Franklin county area. He has that ultra cute grandpa personality where he just wants to be with you, but realizes he's getting older but he will do all he can to keep up. You'll look over your shoulder and he's happily trotting head held high, tail even higher, with a big hound dog grin from ear to ear. Fred didn't come into our care in the best condition. He had a dental to remove years of tarter, but amazingly didn't need to have any teeth removed. Freds nails were so long it looked as though they hadn't been trimmed for years. He had the typical ear crude and a few fatty tumors that needed removed. Fred's vetting is now complete and he's happily waiting for her forever home. Fred is friendly with other dogs, wonderful on car rides, and absolutely loves to have his head scratched. After many years of neglect this old boy would love to have a forever home where he's showered with love and attention. He is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and on a flea/heart worm preventative. To learn more about Fred please fill out an adoption application on our web site. Update 7/2/2011 Fred is a delight. He is just happy all the time. He has figured out the dog door and we have not had one accident in the house. He gets along very well with all of my other dogs. He is eating well and gaining some much needed weight. He kennels up when I ask him to for meals. He is a bit of a barker..and whines when he wants attention. But he quiets when I ask him to. He would do best in a home with few steps, since he does have some arthritis. His ears are clearing up but will need to be watched closely. He loves to be brushed. I don't think he is ten..he is probably around 8 yrs old. He has a lot of love to give to someone.
