Gabby is a 6 yr old tri-color female who was rescued from a high kill shelter in Scioto county. From the looks of her sagging stomach it's obvious this sweet girl had one purpose... to make puppies. Once you meet Gabby you will know why she got her name. She's a little chatterbox and has so much to say. If she had her own gossip column she would tell you all about where she's been, what she is doing and how much she LOVES that you're listening to her. If you try to talk back to her, she will pause for a brief second and then chatter on with an Aarroooh!! Sadly, her tales of struggle are heart breaking. She was absolutely terrified of water while getting a bath. She was so scared it made you wonder if she had witnessed another dog drowning (since she was found wandering along a river community) or she herself had a scare. And that's not all, little Gabby tested positive for heart worms. Where there is water, there is certainly mosquitoes and without preventative, she became infected. Left untreated, Gabby would have died. Fortunately, Gabby found OBR just in time. She has completed her treatment in our veterinarian hospital and will require another heart worm check mid to late December. Gabby has been spayed, microchipped, is up-to-date on vaccines, and on a flea preventative. She will be able to start her monthly heart worm preventative after her final test.
