I have a Basset mix I need to surrender. His name is Cooper he is two years old and will be three in October. He is neutered and current on all shots including a three year rabies shot that he got last October. He is housebroken, great with kids and cats. He is fine with dogs in public and loves the dog park, but needs to be the only dog living in the home. Cooper has been through a lot. His first owners abandoned him when he was less than a year old. He spent the next year with a great couple who had five other dogs, but they decided to have kids and felt that the dogs had to go. Cooper spent five months with me and then I lost my job. I left him in the care of a friend and after his experience there, he is now very fearful of loud voices and very submissive to people. Next he went to a rescue foster home but was unhappy living with the other dog there. I am still unemployed and my landlord will not let me keep him. I desperately need help for him to find a wonderful forever and loving home. He’s been bounced around for too long and he just wants to be loved and cared for forever. Cooper needs to be the only dog in a home, also like all hounds he barks a lot and its very loud so he’s not a candidate for apartment life. He also needs to be crated when no one is home.
