  • Housetrained: Yes

Pippi is a 5 month old sweetheart, who came into foster care with her mom (OBR's Betsy) and 8 siblings when she was 2 weeks old. Pippi is the last puppy waiting to be adopted. I could easily say saving "the best for the last." We truly thought she would be one of the first to go as charming as she is, and she was the tiny one of the family, better known as the runt. I named her Pippi because she was a little "pip squeak." Now the last one, Pippi has taken her place "running with the big dogs," which is many other bassets in the foster home. She does have sharp puppy teeth, will jump, and thinks all toys are dog toys since we do not have young children in the foster home. She has actually earned the right to sleep freely in a doggy bed instead of a crate. She goes outside using the doggy door to potty, but once in awhile has a "mistake" in the house. There is so much to learn being a big girl, that some days it is hard to remember. It's okay, she is still a puppy, but a very smart one at that. Pippi can sit for a treat and for her food, and she is learning "shake a paw," It takes a lot of special treats to learn this important stuff. She doesn't complain too much if she is crated for a small amount of time, as long as she takes her frozen kong stuffed with peanut butter with her! Pippi is required to have an above-ground fence, and another playful canine companion to keep her happy in her forever home. If adopted before 6 months, you will be required to sign a spay agreement. She has had 4 vet visits, all her vaccines, fecal checks, and is microchipped. Although, the last puppy, I will wait for the right home where Pippi will be a part of the family. We wouldn't want it any other way! Please fill out our on-line application if you are interested in adopting Pippi who is fostered in Gahanna OH.
