About Owner Release Ricky

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
I rescued a Basset named Ricky, short for Broderick.  I have a senior basset and two senior doxies.
Ricky is sometimes aggressive with other dogs (cats, not sure, don't have any). He is food aggressive. Very possessive of his owner and has separation anxiety (must remove garbage and has an occasional accident and will howl and cry - i usually leave TV or radio on; he will not crate).
The ideal home would be no pets, owner home majority of time that wants a faithful companion, loves car rides and walks.

Ricky eats no grain food, may have injured his left back leg at one time because he sometimes has difficulty laying down. He is neutered.  Age estimate 4 to 5 but I think he's a little older.  He loves baths but nails must be cut by a pro, he hates it!   He is like glue to my 8 yr old son.

Today and last night no fighting and hes laying on the couch with my basset and doxie, happy as a clam. I know he had a horrible past, tied to a tree, got flea/mange and had sunburn and no hair. The lady i got him from had 2 cats, left them alone and Ricky was tied out with a Rottie in the first house.

Personally i think its the finding himself in the pack. All my doxies do it.

Please contact me.  He's super sweet but this isn't the best home for Ricky.

Thanks so much,
Holly hatch
