*****Foster home update

Brownie is feeling more relaxed.. He loves blankies and keeps checking out the beds. He will take treats from my hand.. He seeks me out.. He laid in my sunroom with me and the pack on Sunday.. That's a first... Still no direct contact .. But I try to touch his back as he runs out with pack. He is super sweet... Doing great with going potty outside.. One day at a time! He is easy to foster and a very happy boy! He loves the other dogs!

Meet Brownie!

Brownie has a very sad story to share. He is a senior basset/beagle mix who is guessed to be at least 8 years old. He has lived his entire life in a hoarding situation and has had very little to no human contact. He was even fed by having food just dumped into his kennel.

Brownie has now come to OBHR for a new start on life. He has recently gone into foster care (he is being fostered in Deerfield, MI) His foster mom reports that he is doing well will some of more submissive foster siblings, but is a bit leery of the ones who are more active and want to play. He also still does not like to be touched and petted but that is just going to be a matter of time.  

He rode quietly in the cars on his transports but pretty much just curled up and kept to himself and was very content being crated. At this time he does not walk on a leash but that is on his list of things to learn!

Brownie will need a very patient adoptive family who understands his past and is willing to work with him and give him the time he needs to adjust to being a pet. He would do good with other low key dogs.
