OHIO BASSET RESCUE IS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES! IF YOU LIVE IN/NEAR OHIO AND WOULD LIKE TO HELP PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE WWW.OHIOBASSETRESCUE.COM AND FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION AND MARK IT FOSTER! OBHR PAYS ALL THE VETTING! NO HOMES WITH CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS DUE TO SAFETY REASONS PLEASE!

Meet Lola-Lou she is a little sweet 7 year old female basset hound, weighing in at just 40lbs, with long ears, big feet, and an adorable disposition!

Lola came to OBHR after a volunteer picked her up from a home where she was put on a Facebook ad as free to a good home. The family had her for 2 months, they took her in from neighbors, but she was “too lovable” and needed too much of their time! Lola happily hopped in our volunteer’s car without looking back!

The wonderful people at VCA Sawmill Animal Hospital gave her a full workup, she was spayed, had a dental, lost 5 teeth, a small benign mass removed from above her front left leg, a full round of shots, heartworm testing (negative), frontline, and heartworm prevention.  She is healthy and on her way to feeling like a new girl again!

Lola has been in her foster home for only a few days, and is an absolute love bug!  She is adjusting to her foster home very well.  She has 2 siblings in her foster home, and she gets along with them extremely well, they have bonded quickly.  The 3 of them cuddle when they sleep, and explore the fenced yard together.  She walks well on a leash with her foster sister for short walks. I don’t think she is used to regular walks, so she may work up to longer walks over time.  She seems to be potty-trained, she has had no accidents so far.  She follows her siblings in and out to do her business, but doesn’t like to hang out in the back yard. She likes to be with her foster mamma.  She is a follower and likes to be with her human at all times.

She previously lived in a house with several cats, and is now living with 2 other bassets so she does well with other animals.  She does well with children and as you can see by her pictures she loves people and attention.  A fenced yard is a must, she doesn’t see strangers, she sees the potential for another belly rub!  She will follow her nose in true basset fashion!

Lola loves food!  She had a bit of a skin condition so she is eating grain free food to keep her skin nice and healthy.  She may have had to fight for her food in her previous situation, because she watches her foster brother and sister when she is eating and will let out an occasional bark if they get too close to her bowl, but no aggressive behavior.

Lola will prosper with love and attention.  She just needs a forever home, a place to feel safe and secure. She wants to keep you company and love you!
